Did you know...?

We celebrated International Real Vanilla Day 2023 with the farmers at our forest orchard in Indonesia!

It’s International Real Vanilla Day! The long wait is over and the celebrations can begin at last. Here at LittlePod HQ, we’re raising a toast to the vanilla farming communities in the Equatorial regions, cultivating their precious crop, regenerating the rainforests around them and benefiting the planet and all its people. In Japan, Janet is spreading the word amongst our next generation of LittlePodders, demonstrating that our Campaign for Real Vanilla knows no bounds or borders…

Indeed, having made our website multilingual for International Real Vanilla Day, our outlook has never been more global. Like to get involved and join our celebrations?

Supporting vanilla farmers since 2010

Having launched our Campaign for Real Vanilla in 2010, this is LittlePod’s 16th year. For all that has been achieved in that time – and it is a lot – the vanilla farmers still need our encouragement to continue planting. Your backing and support has never been more important. To all the farmers at our pioneering forest orchard in Indonesia, we say thank-you – terima kasih. To those elsewhere, misaotra (Madagascar), asante (Tanzania), gracias (Mexico and more). There are countless others, of course, for vanilla is grown right across the Equatorial Belt…

Here at LittlePod HQ, we are grateful to all.

Why real vanilla is so important

Needless to say, our appreciation extends to our customers all over the world, to all our friends and our followers, and to all who continue to support LittlePod and our Campaign for Real Vanilla. In purchasing LittlePod’s products, you are helping us to encourage rainforest regeneration and to prove that our pioneering polyculture system boasts enormous benefits for the environment. This is of the utmost importance, as Janet writes in her message for International Real Vanilla Day:

“Some 97% of all the vanillin used in the West is artificial. But if we could increase the need for REAL vanilla, we could encourage more farmers across the Equatorial Belt to plant trees and cultivate this precious crop.

“Within a decade, we could have a pearl necklace of forest orchards and the beginnings of what could become a thriving rainforest to cover the Equatorial regions. Planting in polytunnels and scientific laboratories is not going to help the renewal of the rainforest!

Thank-you from LittlePod

To our LittlePodders all over the world, to all those buying REAL vanilla and to all those growing it, our message is simple this International Real Vanilla Day…

Thank-you | ありがとう | Tack | شكرا | Dziękuję | धन्यवाद

Vanilla hugs to you all – Happy International Real Vanilla Day…!
