October 17th, International Real Vanilla Day, is the most important date on the LittlePod calendar. It is almost upon us once again. Like to get involved?
Here at our HQ in East Devon, we have a great deal planned, and are engaging with our international LittlePodders like never before. Be it online or offline, we are spreading the word about vanilla and its value to the planet, all over the world.

Our website has been made multilingual – making it easier for us to communicate with our customers, no matter their native tongue. To celebrate our international appeal, Janet will be spending time with LittlePodders on four different continents in the days and weeks ahead, proving that our Campaign for Real Vanilla is, without question, a global movement.
For Janet, Japan, Canada, Australia (and other destinations beside) beckon…
No matter where in world is home, you too can take part this month…!

International Real Vanilla Day is LittlePod’s celebration of real vanilla and the farming communities in the Equatorial regions who are responsible for its continued cultivation. We use this annual event to underline vanilla’s importance to the environment and to give thanks to the farmers who protect and preserve the tropical forests in which this precious crop is grown, benefiting us all.
International Real Vanilla Day is October 17th. This has been LittlePod’s most-important date ever since 2014, when we first launched National Real Vanilla Day. Having gone global in 2020, we’ve celebrated both at home and abroad, in Devon, London and Bali, where we visited the farmers at our pioneering forest orchard in 2023. This October, we will spend the day at the beautiful Barakura English Garden.

There are countless options! Get involved on Instagram, where you can share a post or story, send us a message or help spread the word about real vanilla and its importance; bake something special – find our favourite real vanilla recipes here; and please keep buying LittlePod’s responsibly-sourced ingredients – DYK we donate 10% of all our online sales to support Dr Vik Mohan and Planet Indonesia?
Please follow @little_pod on Instagram, where we’ll be posting both in English and Japanese. Janet will be visiting the Barakura English Garden on October 17th and returning to Tateshina on October 18th, when she will be giving a talk and joining our Japanese LittlePodders for afternoon tea as part of Barakura’s Harvest Festival celebrations. Like to come along? Find full details and book tickets here.

For Janet, who first took LittlePod’s Campaign for Real Vanilla to the Far East five-and-a-half years ago, the chance to return to Japan this October is exciting indeed. Last March, having met Eugene Yamada at Foodex in Tokyo, Janet said, “I love Japan – the place and the people. It’s the perfect fit for LittlePod.” Read more here, watch our short film and follow Janet’s journey on Instagram.
To our LittlePodders all over the world, we send vanilla hugs and look forward to sharing our International Real Vanilla Day celebrations with you all this October…
