Seven decades in the making, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is upon us. That this is something that demands to be celebrated is beyond all question.

Our preparations began in earnest earlier this month, when Janet and Dave travelled to London for the Queen’s Garden Party.

It wasn’t LittlePod’s first trip to Buckingham Palace!

Having visited on previous occasions, first to celebrate receiving the British Empire Medal in 2012 and then our Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2018, Janet was thrilled to return this time to mark her MBE – awarded for LittlePod’s contribution to Exports, International Trade and Sustainability. For our founder and MD, it was a great honour indeed.

Quoted in an article titled ‘What the Queen means to me’ in the latest Devon Life magazine, Janet said: “From Queen’s Guide Award to Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner, I feel privileged to have had a role model like HRH Queen Elizabeth all my life.”

It is this that we will be celebrating this week as we raise a toast to a most remarkable reign.

Janet will be hosting a commemorative tea party, here on the LittlePod lawn, where fellow members of the Farringdon Society of Arts will take refreshments, before visiting the flower festival at the beautiful church that lies just beyond our boundary, where our contribution is to decorate three jubilee windows (with precious orchids, of course).

Further afield, Charlotte White – LittlePod ambassador – will be marking the occasion at the latest Foodies Festival, this time in London. LittlePod is proud to be sponsoring the Cakes and Desserts Theatre once more and it delights us to report that Jemma Melvin, winner of the Queen’s Platinum Pudding Competition, will join Charlotte on stage in Syon Park on Friday and Saturday.
