Who We Are

Janet, MD

janet_for_site

I was a very inquisitive child. My favourite lesson of the week in the small rural primary school I attended was a lesson that must have been history, geography and science all rolled into one. We would examine the nature of things: asking ‘Where does this come from’? I would be able to look at my pencil and images of its journey would come to me: India, a tree, an elephant carrying a log in its trunk! Therefore it is no surprise to find myself, today, exploring the whole world of vanilla.

I have always been a busy person and have enjoyed new challenges. Six years ago I started the Farringdon Society of Arts, a community arts venture. Whether it has been teaching in a vibrant community in East London or organising cultural activities here in East Devon I have always enjoyed connecting with people and encouraging creativity and looking for, and organising, beneficial projects.

It is a joy for me, as I develop LittlePod, to be involved with a group of dynamic, energetic and creative people both here in the West Country and beyond.  You can contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Having just spent a diverse three years at university studying media and culture, I was looking forward to my next challenge. I am delighted that this next challenge centres around my involvement with Janet and LittlePod. The products are brilliant; environmentally and morally conscious, and enthusiasm is in abundance.

Sam, Production Co-ordinator

Having been a visitor to LittlePod HQ on a number of occasions and a friend of Creative Associate, Tom, I have been able to watch from afar as LittlePod has grown from an initial concept to the exciting and international brand that it is today.  In early January 2013 I was given the opportunity to take up a more active role in the business, when Janet offered me the position of Production Coordinator. Unsurprisingly it took very little persuasion to say yes, and so I upped and left my previous job to come and focus my efforts on streamlining the production process and keeping up with the incredible demand that LittlePod’s products are now generating.

The first time I heard about the company that would go on to become LittlePod was the summer of 2009. Having just finished a shift at work, I popped over to Janet’s house to say hello and have a cuppa. With trademark enthusiasm, she told me of her plans to start a company selling vanilla products in the UK and showed me some samples.

I was very impressed by the idea, and asked whether she needed any help with branding or advertising. After a few sketches and brainstorming sessions, I came up with a company name, brand ethos and logo, which got Janet’s stamp of approval. Now, LittlePod has grown into an expanding, exciting and, most importantly, ethical company.

My passions have always been in art and science. I recently graduated from Durham University reading Natural Sciences: Chemistry, Mathematics and Earth Sciences. Throughout University, I nurtured my creative side through extra curricular activities; designing advertising campaigns and helping run events. When the opportunity came up to be involved with LittlePod I leapt at the chance as it enabled me to combine the two. I am so happy to be part of a socially responsible company with such a fantastic, friendly atmosphere.

Charlie, Press Officer

Charlie_ListerI’ve been involved with the Farringdon Society of Arts in various ways since its inception in 2004, I can’t believe
how long it’s been! As the exciting business arm of a project I’ve liked so much, I couldn’t wait to get involved with LittlePod.

Having recently graduated with a degree in English Literature and currently pursuing a career
in journalism, I jumped at the chance to be LittlePod’s very own Press Officer.

Harriet, Designer

This talented designer, has been inspired by the possibility that vanilla may be able to stave off sugar cravings. Harriet has designed her own dieters blog, using LittlePod products to test out this theory on herself! Read her recipes and see how she goes:

Will, Film Producer

Will_Halfacree

I am a freelance video producer director. I feel that the moving image can teach us a lot and help educate people in a more effective and direct route than words often do. I have worked with Janet for 8 years on a variety of projects, including an hour long film, and am now LittlePod's exclusive filmmaker.

Will has enhanced the LittlePod website with his short info films, and also produced a film to mark LittlePod's first anniversary. View here.

Chloé, Assistant Export

Chloe_MoulinI am Chloé and I am currently studying International Trade in Lorient (France). An 8-week work placement is a  compulsory part of the course. LittlePod accepted my request for an internship and I am very happy to be able to work with Janet and Clara. I hope I could help them to develop their products in France.

It is my first experience in a company and I want to convince many French to savour the products of LittlePod and so to bring a French touch to this company.

Sarah, Creative Associate

Since returning from The Netherlands my life has been enriched by meeting various people, one lady in particular, Janet, whose zest for life is infectious. As an artist I was delighted to be given the opportunity by the Farringdon Society of Arts to be Farringdon’s Children’s Artist in Residence.

As an artist and colourist I have enjoyed producing a colour pallete to work in conjunction with LittlePod’s products. I am passionate about colour and have worked as a colourist for The Liberty Design Studio and Nina Campbell. I am inspired to be working on a consultancy basis for LittlePod, to offer my skills as a colourist.

This is a unique and innovative company with an abundance of energy and magnetism. I look forward to the LittlePod explosion!

I’m thrilled to be a part of the team, and I’m looking forward to developing the brand and getting our fantastic product range out there for everyone to enjoy.
